Real Estate Industry Protocols
Effective Saturday, March 12th, Washington State will lift the majority of indoor mask mandates. However, private businesses and homeowners can still require masks if they choose. The message is “please respect the rules of the room.”
- Brokers and their clients must adhere to any requirements or restrictions imposed by the seller of a property. This includes required appointments, mandatory face coverings, capacity limitations, or other instructions. Listing brokers should detail any requirements in the listing and post signs at the property regarding any specific instructions (e.g. face covering required to enter). As always, brokers should be respectful of others and continue to follow all recommended health guidelines.
- Real estate firms may require that employees, brokers, and visitors wear a mask in the office. Firms should continue to comply with all other recommended health guidelines.
- Business Cards. On March 12th, NWMLS will reinstate the requirement to leave a business card when previewing or showing a property as required by Rule 180(a).

For Our Seller's
- Will will utilize ShowingTime to limit appointments and guests viewing your listing at one time.
- We will contact all broker's who schedule appointments to confirm that neither them or their client's are experiencing any symptoms, to ask whether they have traveled recently, and to gain confirmation that they have no known instance of coming into contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
- We will make hand sanitizer and and shoe covers available to all guests.
- Signage will be posted to remind guests to use hand sanitizer, to remove their shoes and/or wear shoe covers during their tour, and to not to touch any surfaces.
SHOWING APPOINTMENTS
- We will conduct virtual open houses by utilizing platforms such as Facebook Live.
- Professional photography will be shot of your home.
- A high definition video walkthrough will be conducted.
- A 3D virtual tour will be completed, along with a digital floorplan.

For Our Buyer's
PROPERTY TOURS
- If the property is occupied, we will call ahead to ask if the occupants are experiencing any symptoms, to verify if they have traveled recently, and to gain confirmation that they have no known instance of coming into contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
- We will clean and disinfect all door knobs, lock boxes, and countertops prior to your arrival.
- We will provide hand sanitizer and gloves for you to use.
- We will remind you not to touch any surfaces, and to wash your hands prior to leaving each property.
- We are practicing social distancing, so hand shakes, hugs, etc. will be avoided.
- Live, virtual tours will be conducted, upon request.
SIGNING & CLOSING
- Any funds will be wired.
- All contract signatures will be acquired electronically, or a mobile notary will come to you.
